Panizzi Cafe is a convenient coffee spot nestled right inside Building 16 of the UOW Library in Wollongong, making it an easy go-to for university students and staff looking for a quick caffeine fix or a casual bite between study sessions. The cafe operates primarily as a takeaway outlet, but it does offer a handful of alfresco-style seats just outside, which can be a nice option on mild days — though seating is functional rather than particularly comfortable compared to some other local coffee spots.

The vibe here is straightforward and no-nonsense, reflecting its location within a busy university environment. Staff interaction is often friendly and approachable, with baristas who consistently greet customers warmly, helping to ease the stress some come in with. Over time, the quality of their coffee has noticeably improved, making it a quieter choice for those who appreciate decent espresso-based drinks without the fuss.

Regulars particularly appreciate Panizzi's take on classic drinks like dirty chai and hot mocha, which seem to strike a good balance between flavour and value. For those seeking something more refreshing, iced cappuccinos and mochas are also available and tend to be popular in warmer semesters. On the food side, the cafe offers simple, fresh options such as wraps — practical if a bit on the mild side flavor-wise — ideal for a quick lunch between lectures.

This spot suits students or university personnel who want a reliable, efficient spot to grab quality coffee close to the library without taking too much time out of their day. Early afternoons or mid-morning during a study break are good windows when you can find a bit of space to sit outside and enjoy your drink before heading back inside. While not revolutionary in atmosphere or seating comfort, Panizzi excels in meeting the practical needs of a campus café: friendly service, accessible location, and consistent coffee that fits a busy academic rhythm.

In ideal scenarios, I generally find a cafe near my workplace/uni- like currently, and make it a regular go-to place. It's been a few months as their customer, and I have found them to be very friendly, hospitable and they seem to make really good dirty chai and hot mocha! (There's iced mocha and cappuccino as well which are nice!, but I've tried the previously mentioned more often ).

It seemed offer only take away but there were a few alfresco seats just outside the restaurant. I ordered a honey mustard chicken wrap which costed me around AUD 5. It tasted a bit bland yet fresh. Good enough for a university cafeteria.

I had such a nice experience with 2 girls working there this afternoon - I feel now everyone at Panizzi greets all customers with a smile, and it makes a big difference for the uni stress! Panizzi has glowed up over the years! Coffee has definitely improved in both taste and quality, while still continuing efficient and great service! As someone who used to boycott Panizzi, it’s now my fav place on campus to go! Have an amazing day, Panizzi team

This place is located at the University and for the price is the best place at the campus. They have a good variety where they sell both high quality drinks for the cost and a good variety of food. The location and service is very good because it is right near the library. The atmosphere is average, the quality of seating around the venue is subpar compared to the other coffee places but the quality makes up for it.
